Contactless sleep and respiratory wellness sensing

Sleep Sensing on the Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) can help you get a better night’s rest and improve your overall wellness. Sleep sensing

Sleep Sensing uses Motion Sense to track the sleep of the person closest to the display. Motion Sense uses a low-energy radar to detect movement and breathing. Other sensors in Nest Hub (2nd gen) detect sounds like snoring and coughing and environmental factors like light and temperature in the room.

Sleep Sensing can then determine not just when you went to bed and how long you slept but also the quality of your sleep. Once you’ve set up Sleep Sensing, all you have to do is sleep as usual in the spot you configured. There’s nothing to wear or remember to charge.

Sleep summary

Each morning on your display, you should receive a sleep summary of how well you slept the night before. This includes elements like Quality, Duration and Schedule, and displays an overall color for how well or poor your sleep was overall.

Respiratory wellness

Respiratory wellness shows things that can affect your sleep:

Respiration rate (RPM): Measures the average number of breaths you take per minute, and how variable your breathing was in that sleep period. Your RPM range is the top 95% and bottom 5% of the night’s data.

Sleep disturbance events: Shows disturbances during sleep such as coughing or snoring.
